17mm stone in right side kidney
My husband who is 37 yrs old has a stone in right kidney 17.5mm bcoz of that stone kidney get swell doctor told us do dtpa scan to know about the functionality of kidney. I want to know how critical is this situation

Stone could be obstructive in nature which severe and gross hydronephrosis Patient requires PCNL Before taking major operative procedure in borderline cases we do recommend functional evaluation of the kidney There is no point in doing surgery if kidney is nonfunctional or less than 10-15% of total functional capacity
