20 weeks p, beta thalessamia minor, hb 7
I am 20 weeks pregnant. I have beta thalessamia minor and my Hb dropped to 7 recently from 10.50 in March. Currently, I am taking 2 dexorange capsules, 1 shelcal-500 mg and 1 supradyn tablet. The doctor advised not to take iron capsules or iron injections. Due to ongoing pandemic, I don't want to get admitted to hospital for blood transfusion. I am attaching electrophoresis report for reference. Please guide.

Dexorange is iron tablet only Please continue that or change to other brand if it was not helpful And recheck hemoglobin at 26-28 weeks If still low and reports show iron deficiency as well..you can take iron sucrose injection also Connect for more information Go to my website www.familygynaec.com For articles on pregnancy advice Blog section

Hem you get from iron tablets and syrup but for globin you have to take animal protein like eggs Repeat Hb after 2 weeks if still no response to oral iron blood transfusion is mandatory
