6th day - High Fever, Low Platelet
My daughter (2.5 years old) is having fever since last 6 days. Initially it was fluctuating around 100 degrees and now its gone upto 102 degrees. She is finding herself weak. Platelet count is decreasing 1.4 l/cmm to 1.3l/cmm. She also complains of stomach pain as well. Since 4th day she is finding hard to speak, seems throat pain with cold.

Needs physical examination and investigation,but probably viral sore throat. Give steam inhalations 4-5 times a day,and give paracetamol for fever and throat pain,repeat 4 hourly if required. Should settle down in 3-5 days,if not,reconsult your paediatrician.
