My child 3.5 years old is having infected tooth with an abcess over the tooth on his gum. The tooth has a filling which was done a year ago but the pulp was exposed to bacteria. This abcess is under control and drains itself with saline water. We are yet to get rct done as my child is non cooperative during treatments. I have a query about how long can we wait for rct and is there any risk of getting the permanent tooth forming under infected milk tooth also infected.

Hello,
Welcom to
Practo.
There are chances of underlying tooth may get some deformity if the tooth is repeatedly infected. But it is rare. You also didn't mention which tooth. If underlying one is near to erupt you can even remove it.
As your child is uncooperative you can opt for sedation during treatment.
If your child's tooth is repeatedly infected you can't wait too much.
