If the patient is uncooperative to dental procedures due to dental phobia then it is better to treat them with conscious sedation or under general anesthesia . the decision is taken by collaborating with a dentist and an anesthetist . The cost of the treatment can be little higher . But if the patient doesn't allow to merely check the teeth ,then certain behavioral techniques that we use for kids can be used . For example showing videos of dental check up and treatments can help to reduce the apprehensions of the patient . With a physicians help some oral sedatives can be given prior to the dental procedure to calm the patient .
Next Steps
May require conscious sedation or general anaesthesia .
