My father aged 55yrs having diabetes ,bp,went for cardiac checkup 10days back, there ecg abnormal,2d echo normal, tmt report positive, given clopitab 75mg,and regular medicine for bp, diabetes, they adviced to do angiogram ,but he has no chest pain no symptoms daily walking ,can we again test for CT angio i.e done by giving barium dye, because in that the calcium score is negative then we can know that there is less risk for cardiac arrest, Want opinion regarding this

Somtimes diabetes patients do not have chest pain even though there is blockage in heart arteries . If TMT is positive invasive angiogram is the best possible investigation. If u do not want to get it done then go for CT angiography. Accuracy of CT is not as good as invasive angiogram . Choice is yours .
