Aching knee joint
Dear doctor, I have been experiencing some knee joint pain for quite some time now. It comes and go . I don't know the cause .please advise for supplements or course of action. I'm just 24 years old but my knee hurts when I walk sometimes. Not both knees just one on the right. Thank you doctor

Hi. If it's an on and off pain, and not severe, just do some knee strengthening exercises and apply ice packs. If you are overweight, try to reduce some weight.
Next Steps

Such pain could be mechanical in nature. Excessive stress on joint during daily activities could result such pain. Alternatively, some cartilage issue might also be the cause of knee pain. For an accurate diagnosis, a detailed assessment with clinical examination and proper history followed by appropriate investigations is needed.

Active Joint Range of Motion Exercises-Full flexion/Extension to be achieved at 1 week, followed by Static and Dynamic Quadriceps/Hamstring Exercises. • Watch for increased Pain/Swelling/Stiffness/Redness/Fever. If present, visit the nearest hospital immediately. • Avoid ground-level activities like squatting and cross-leg sitting. Use English/sitting commode for toilet activities.
