Acl reconstruction
Hi
I recently had acl reconstruction for a second time on my right knee with a left hamstring graft this time.
My question is why Was I in surgery for 4 hours for the second time unlike the first operation i was in for 2 hours?
They gave me no explanation.

Hi. It's very difficult to access the situation and comment exactly why you were in surgery for 4 hours as many questions are unanswered. Revision surgery is always difficult and if you had space to get your graft at exactly where it should be. No one can actually comment that any arthroscopy surgery will take 2 hours. Revision situations are really very challenging sometimes. All what is important is that the surgery is very well done. Patient always comes first.

Increased operative time suggests the difficulty while performing operation.
Things done in first operation have to be undone. This takes time, then on top of that a revision ACL reconstruction.
Ideally Arthroscopy should take not more than 2 hours.
