ACL reconstruction surger
Hello doctor, I have to undergo an acl reconstruction surgery next month. I injured my acl while playing cricket. It happened 2 years ago. Doctor said that the cost of the surgery is Rupees sixty thousand. My doubt is will I be able to return to sports after the surgery? I'm also under medications for psychic illnesses. Should I stop the medicines before the surgery? Please Help me. Thank you.

Yes ,after acl reconstruction, person can resume sports. But it needs rehabilitation exercises, and it may take you 3-6 months to be able to do it. Regarding your medication that you are already using, you may have to discontinue it for a day or more , depending on the type of medication

Hello, Considering your age your recover and return to sport after surgery is high. Surgery out comes based on few important factors: 1.Experience and skill of the Surgeon 2. 9 months "progressive " rehabilitation 3. Your current body weight 4, Your current lower body strength and quadriceps muscle mass 5. Experience and skill of the therapist 6. Most importantly your patient and adherence in post op rehabilitation.
