Acne coming back and pill stoped working
Hi. I have always struggled with acne and my dermatologist prescribed with with Bactrim DS 800. The first year it worked great, but I ran out of pills for about 2 months and my face got bad again. I am back on the pill and have been for nearly two months and now my acne is worse than it was while I was not taking it during those two months. Should I give the medication more time, or maybe try accutane?

The severity of acne dictates the choice of treatment. In the early grades of acne even the cream might suffice however in moderate to higher grades tablets also need to be taken. The treatment has to be continued for a few months otherwise the pimples would tend to return easily. Kindly do not self medicate without professional advice as that could further damage your skin. Get an online consult privately with pictures or meet a dermatologist directly for a proper evaluation of the condition. Hope this was helpful.
