The severity of acne dictates the choice of treatment. In the early grades of acne even the cream might suffice however in moderate to higher grades tablets also need to be taken. The treatment has to be continued for a few months otherwise the pimples would tend to return easily. Kindly do not self medicate without professional advice as that could further damage your skin. When you mention about the scars do you mean the dark marks OR the depressions in the skin surface which occur when big acne pimples heal. For the treatment of the pigmentation marks creams can be used. For the treatment of the depressed scars procedures are required to get an improvement. There are options like hyaluronic acid filler or subdermal fat transplant which can be done for the holes if they are slightly bigger. But the very tiny depressed scars would require either laser treatment or micro needling. For the black marks you can try applying kojic cream for a month which will decrease the pigmentation on the marks. But for the holes some kind of procedural intervention definitely be needed. Get an online consult privately with pictures or meet a dermatologist directly for a proper evaluation of the condition. Hope this was helpful.

For people with severe acne oral retinoids helps control sebum production and pimples. You may need actibiotics to control active acne like oral doxycycline and local clindamycin creams. Once the acne is under control then you can start treatment for pimple marks which may be pigmentation or scars. There are various treatments for acne scars which include creams, chemical peels, microdermaabrasion, microneedling, radiofrequency, surgery, fat fill laser etc. Creams work only for superficial pigmentation not for scars. You can start initially on milder depigmentation creams which contain kojic acid, arbutin, niacinamide like Melaglow at night and use sunscreen three times a day. And depending on type of skin whether oily or dry you can choose a face wash. It need examination and personalized plan.
