Acute Cough Problem
My mother is suffering from acute cough. When I gave her Grilinctus-BM syrup as prescribed by a Doctor (General Physician) she was telling that she felt shivering from inside and not feeling well. I can't understand why did this happen? Please suggest me what should I do now.

This syrup can cause tremors which makes you fell shaky within, because of terbutalin . Its a very common side effect.. Nothing very serious to worry about. But if she still feels its causing discomfort u can try reducing its dose a bit or change the syrup.

Stop the syrup for now as terbutaline contained In the syrup may have caused tremors
Please get her chest x ray
done.get her complete blood picture done to see the total rise in WBC. Counts

Cough may be symptom of either upper or lower airway involvement. Is it accompanied by sputum or fever? Fever itself may cause 'chills' as well. It may due to a side effect of the medication as well. However I feel that it warrants further evaluation. Kindly provide a few more details if possible as I have mentioned before.

Grilinctus BM contains terbutalin which can cause tremor as side effects. This might be the cause of your mother's unexplained shivering and uneasiness. However, you should check her body temperature with a thermometer. Fever may be associated with acute cough. Of there is fever, this can cause shivering and chill.
