Aggressive impulses of patient
My father in law age 75+ is frequently quarreling, agitated to small or no issue, sometimes beats his spouse. we can not take him to doctor as he will make a scene. Pl suggest some medicine.

People with Alzheimer disease can get anxious or upset easily. They might be restless, unable to sleep or pace back and forth. These problems are called agitation.

here are some non-pharmacological tips to overcome agitation. 1. create a calm place for him. 2. make his daily tasks as simple as possible. 3. check for physical reasons he might be agitated like hunger, thirst, urination or being too hot or cold. 4. exercise can ease anxiety.  take him for a walk. 5. put on his favorite music. 6. use night lamps to help him feel less confused and afraid of night. 7. keep your emotions in check. avoid arguing or criticizing him..... Medications like anti psychotic, anti depressants or anti anxiety drugs are used to treat agitation.
