Alcohol addiction
Hi doctor, I have been consuming alcohol since last 7-8 years.Before marriage it was for fun with friends but post marriage I have been drinking alone since last 4 years. Now since last 7-8 months I have been drinking 6 pegs of 60 ml almost 5 days a week. I have tried to avoid drinking but in evening I loose control over myself. What should I do. Pls help

Yes looks like u have become dependent on alcohol. Please consult a psychiatrist for deaddiction. Also evaluation regarding reason for your increase in  alcohol intake is required.

Hi. From what you have mentioned, it is Clear that you have become dependent on alcohol. First of all, I really appreciate the fact that you have developed to courage accept that it's out of your control now. The best way for you will be to seek professional help. You should consult a Psychiatrist and start treatment for the same. Initially, you can opt for out patient treatment. If you are not able to control on out patient treatment, admission would be recommended. You can contact me if you wish to for initiating treatment.
