Alcohol addiction doesn't affect only patient but also to near one's of addicted patient. Alcohol addiction is illness and need to be treated for which family members should take part in treatment along with doctor and medicines. Consult psychiatrist De-addication specialist for same.
Where addiction is concerned the person should feel the need to get over the addiction...... he should understand that there is a problem ......as long as there is no such understanding it's difficult for him to seek treatment...... he may come because you have taken him..... but once he is in the same environment later he may get back to the addiction .....so ideally you can start by taking him to a counseling centre ...and see how he reacts and if he develops Insight about the issues ....after that probably he would willingly come with you for rehabilitation
