Xray looks normal to me. What is your cousin age? Any history of previous trauma? Any other joint swelling?

Hello Practo User The joint looks normal on xray. You don't see this picture in Arthritis,so don't worry. There are possibilities to be ruled out: 1.Injury. 2.Gout 3.Bad footwear also. Your Orthopaedic doctor must have used the word 'Arthritis' for explaining you.
Next Steps
Get his blood investigations as well. Rest, leg elevation and don't apply any ointment,or heat or cold.
