The medications that are given for OCD falls under the group of antidepressants like SSRIs which are known to be the safest antidepressants available. If you have been diagnosed as OCD (by a psychiatrist obviously and not by you) then its always prudent to take his/her advice which might entail u taking such meds. Its better to follow the advice. There are some other techniques apart from meds (but works best along with meds) like CBT, ERP etc. Better get a psychiatric consultation done.
