Appendicitis
Hello Doctors. Hope you all are doing good. Pls help. I want to know the correct imaging diagnosis for Appendicitis? Can theinflammed appendix been seen on an ultrasound? Thnku for your time. Good day Regards

Yes ultrasound is best for inflamed appendix diagnosis.

Appendicitis is essentially a clinical diagnosis.However, in case of appendicular lump or mass, it can be seen in Ultrasound or CT Scan.

Ultrasound is still the best investigation for appendicitis..only if u have clinical features of appendicitis.. But in 10 percent of cases appendicitis can be missed , only if it's behind the large intestines , then we call these as retroceacal appendicitis , with strong clinical suspicion,  we ask  these patient to.take CECT abdomen and pelvis..which is 100 % confirmatory .. But first is first ..get ultrasound abdomen and pelvis
