Asthma during wheat harvest
I have asthmatic problems during wheat harvest season (April) for the past 15 years. symptoms include; irritation from throat to lungs area, breathlessness, cough, phlegm, loss of stamina & body-ache. I've been using Asthalin Inhaler (whenever breathlessness) during this period along with montelukast oral medicine OD in evening. Apart from this period, i feel 10-15% of this problem during November harvest season. Please advise better medication. As I live in Punjab, exposure is always there.

If the symptoms of asthma are peristant , you may need inhaled steroids. Please a pulmonologist who can advise you proper inhalers. Asthalin if taken continuously everyday may not show the same effects like it used to as before. Hence you may need a step up of treatmneg if the asthma symptoms are peristant.

Hi. I understand your concern s. You will need to undergo a detailed examination and investigation like pulmonary function test which is needed for the diagnosis as well as to assess severity of asthma based on which treatment can be started. Only asthalin is not enough. Consult a pulmonologist for the same at the earliest.
