Atropic non-functional left kidney
I have backbone problem since 15 years. I goes for every medication but cant get relief. now i faced another new problem of paining around my abdomen including back side and through medication they find out that is kidney problem as my left kidney is Atropic and not functioning (1.5% function) but normally functioning right kidney (results from USG, CT Scan, DTPA test). i want to know are these problems of backbone and kidney interrelated? what should i have to do for non functioning kidney?

Consult a urologist for clinical evaluation to delineate the cause as kidney may get atrophic due to number of diseases. Once atrophic and not contributing to kidney function ,may be removed surgically if causing symptoms,or due to progressive disease.if due to non progressive disease and not causing symptoms,may just be followed up
