Azithromycin for sore throat
I am suffering from sore throat & cold..My doc diagnosed it as phayringitis & prescribed azithromycin.. dosage suggested was 250 mg two times for 3 days.. last time another doc gave me 500 mg once daily for 3 days.. I read on net that azithromycin dosage for sinusitis is 500 od for 3 days while for pharyngitis , it is 500 on day 1 followed by 250 twice daily for day 2 to day 5 .. I am confused now.. what exactly is correct prescription?

HELLO, HOT SALINE GARGLE. AVOID SPICY FRIED, GREASE FOOD. NO COLD THINGS. SIPS OF LUKE WARM WATER, VEGETABLE SOUP, TOMATO SOUP GIVES YOU ENERGY AND COMFORT IN SORE THROAT. TABLET AZITHROMYCIN 500 ONE PER DAY FOR THREE TO FIVE DAYS. EITHER YOU TAKE AZITHROMYCIN 250Mg TWO TIMES A DAY DOSE TOTALLY IS 500mg. I HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND THIS. TABLET SIGMOFLAM TWO-TIMES A DAY AFTER LUNCH AND DINNER FOR THREE TO FIVE DAYS. PLENTY OF LIQUIDS. O.K BYE.
