You are showing nerve impingement issue that can cause due to either disc problem or other spinal issues. So better you should go for MRI of LS spine 3T rather than X ray coz in X Ray we can’t see soft tissues etc. After get done MRI only should start with proper treatment with systematic way. Otherwise you will not get exact problem and run here & there. First, pick the problem then go for choice of right treatment. Mainly Physiotherapy will be helpful but all depends on report may or may not be you may have to visit spine surgeon just for consultation but after MRI only we can judge things. Spine surgeon will help to prescribe some pain killers & nerve strengthening medicines followed by Physiotherapy ( Electrotherapy & Exercise therapy). In Physiotherapy treatment will modify according to your improvement and levels. So please don’t stick old way of Physiotherapy plans and all. Most of the cases get better and live their life normally without surgery. So don’t be scared. But you have to take proper precautions & modifies lifestyle activities. Take care.

Radiating pain to legs is related to sciatica. Alcohol has a sedative effect on body but is not the solution to your problem.
Next Steps
Get xray of LS spine & start back exercises to improve your back strength. Knee to chest is the best exercise for your problem.
Health Tips
Avoid bending & lifting heavy weights.
