Backache severe pain on left thigh
MRI has been done and that shows L5-S1 compression. Orthopedic surgeon suggested for surgery after seeing that nerve got compressed due to it and that is the cause of severe pain. Don't we have any other alternative than the surgery as its in starting stage

Hello , if its not severe you can be treated by exercises .please visit a physiotherapist . Strengthening exercises will help you make your muscles strong and modalities can be used to reduce pain . Lumbo sacral belt will help you support the back .belt can be removed when you have your meals and while you sleep . Always turn on one side and get up from lying position .avoid lifting heavy objects .
