Best treatment for vocal cords cancer
Hello all, My father had biopsy for vocal cards white lesions, during biopsy ENT surgeon has removed visible lesions part. Now we have received reports and as per biopsy report on right side of 1/3rd of vocal cord cancerous cells are found. ENT surgeon suggested us to go for surgery and completely remove affected vocal cords area, he suggested to prefer surgery over Chemotherapy. So considering the age of my Dad (68 Years) I would like to know the best treatment we can go for, also how soon we need to do it as he just had biopsy and recovering from it. Thanks a lot in advance.

Radiotherapy will be non invasive and will cure the cancer with good voice quality. It is the treatment of choice!

as he is 68 year.. a single siiting 1 hour laser surgery is better than 35 sittings of radiation with mucositis and dysphagia...long term voice outcomes after 6 months of either treatment are same...
