Bleeding after delivery

Asked for Female, 29 Years

I delivered on 6th of November via csection and had bleeding for 3 weeks and then stopped with brown discharge. Again after 5 weeks I started bleeding bright red blood. And it's been 7 days I am still bleeding red. There's no decrease in bleeding. There's hardly any flow while resting or night time. It increases during the day time. Is it a cause of concern?

This could be your regular periods. The first period after delivery might be heavy for some. But if you feel heavy bleeding is persisting after 7 days better to get checked with your gynaecologist.

Next Steps

Make sure to take iron and calcium supplements for 6 months post delivery.
