Blood in sputum
I have a cold and cough problem and last two days i am seeing blood tinged sputum for about 5mins in the last 2 days.i had similar issue in dec14. kindly advice is the condition serious.

Hello hello if it is fresh blood with usa then it's quite possible then the cause is right up in the throat...its quite possible that due to cough or straining it is happening.. but then on the safer side its better to rule out other causes related to lung..so please meet a physician or a pulmonologist...thank you

Hello there.  I can understand your concern.  You definitely need to get it checked out by a pulmonologist ASAP. It appears bronchial arterioles rupture due to strainful coughing but since it is repeatedly happening...need to test sputum and fo cxray...meet MD physician
