Blood sugar level
Hello dr. Randomly I checked my glucose with glucometer,it was 267mg/dl. I'm obese(wt. 103kg,ht.5'7") Now I'm doing exercises and low card diet since 5 days. Now my fasting glucose is 147 and post meal it is 162. 1)Should I take medicine or I can manage it with diet and exercise? 2)Can it be reversed? Kindly suggest me.. Thanks

Hello.. Looking at your age and obesity u are likely benefit from wt loss and subsequent decrease in blood sugar and even reversal After few day of lifestyle modifications u could bring your Fasting and pp down is good thing.. But still your fasting sugar is above target at present moreover u get yourself tested with Hb1Ac which will give u exact idea of your sugar control in last 6 to 8 weeks... If u could keep your Fasting below 130, pp below 180 and Hb1Ac below 6.5 then their is no need of starting medication but u have to regularly monitor sugars...!!
