Blood tests
My father is 63 has Type 2 DM since 13 yrs now diagnosed with diabetes nephropathy.Currently on insulin.He also has hypothyroidism, dyslipidemia, hypertension,grade 1 prostatomegaly , simple renal cortical cysts,hearing loss,and cataract.What blood tests and scans should I keep getting done in order to track his health and at what interval

He needs comprehensive care. Patients with diabetes and nephropathy are very high risk for cardiovascular disease. He needs retinopathy screening. It tells from history, he did not have good diabetes control over the years, now suffering from nephropathy. The best way to prevent further worsening is to control Diabetes, BP, LDL cholesterol and weight management. Also based on creatinine, his medication should be carefully chosen.
