Bloodsome eye
On the 4th day of chickenpox noticed redness in one eye in the conjunctiva and light sensitivity. Eyelids of same eye are a bit swollen and painful. Feels like having a grain of sand in the eye. Otherwise no blurriness. Just dull pain. Desire to keep eye closed or in low lightning conditions. Wondering how feasible and safe it is to go to a doctor due to infectious nature if chicken pox.

Hi, The chicken pox is caused by varicella zoster virus. Sometimes this virus can affect the eye too. When there is an infection, if the cornea is involved, it can cause irritation, pain, watering and decreased vision.
Next Steps
its better you get yourself checked by an ophthalmologist to rule out the eye infection due to varicella zostervirus. For the watering and foreign body sensation, start with some lubricating drops available in the pharmacies, 3 times/day.
