Consult your dental clinic to evaluate the cause of relapse. The orthodontist will then decide whether you need retainers or any other appliance. Nowadays transparent retainers are also available.

Hi, there are transparent braces available called aligners which are removable ‘ mouth guards’ that fit closely over your teeth. You will be given, a series of aligners which should be removed while eating and drinking. It is also possible to have braces glued to the back of your teeth ( lingual braces) which are much less visible but can be more noticeable to the tongue and cause changes to speech initially. 3rd option would be fixed permanent braces available in tooth coloured varieties that blend in with the natural colour of your teeth. The wires used to straighten teeth can also be coated with a tooth coloured material. So, in case you need a re-treatment, u can go for either of the above. Regarding your teeth getting back in the weird shape, your Orthodontist would have adviced you to wear retainers once your braces were removed. You were supposed to have a regular check up with your dentist even once the braces were off. Teeth almost have a memory, so they want to move back to where they came from, almost back to the crooked start before the braces went on. So it is given to resist that relapse. Also, teeth undergo continuous changes along with age. It’s like an ageing phenomenon. Like how you get wrinkles on your face with age, teeth also get! So in order to keep them steady and hold your smile, it’s extremely important to wear your retainers regularly atleast for an year. If you have lost it, kindly consult your dentist/orthodontist for a new set. For a clear picture, you can send me the images of your teeth in the private chat. I can suggest you, if you need a re-treatment or the present condition can be treated just with retainers.

Hi Were you given any retainers after the ortho treatment? There is always some kind of retention given after the treatment. If it is bothering you a lot you can go for a short term aligner treatment to get the alignment right.
Next Steps
visit your dentist to discuss about retainers.
Health Tips
Go for aligners treatment if at all required
