I had a infection in my dental bridge of 3 units.
So I have to change it. The doctor is going to prepare a new one.
Previous had to be removed by cutting the bridge. The doctor is charging me extra for bridge removal. And bridge making charges separately.
Is it fair.

Please treat the infection first before going for permanent bridge!
It is fair to charge separately for bridge removal! It is pretty subjective some people charge some dont!
Depends also which bridge material is used!
In my persona opinion it is alrt to charge for bridge removal unless , it is done by me previously!

Removing an old bridge has to be done very carefully as the teeth inside might get damaged while removing. A bridge is cut and removed to prevent damage to the tooth inside it. Cutting one bridge causes damage to the instrument used and the instrument become useless after that and also, it is time consuming and tedious is it does not come out easily.
So the doctor is justified in whatever he/she is doing
Do u think the Dental or medical treatment is free of cost. If such is the case then Service also will be poor.
Always a nominal charge is there as fees plus you have to pay separately for the new procedure. May be the doctor can give some concession for the repeat work. As you should understand the procedure involves time, materials, consultation services and Lab Services.
How much ur doctor is charging for bridge cutting?, we (in Maharashtra) don't charge anything extra from patients if he/she is making a new one from us.
