Broke up with girlfriend
I did a terrible thing. I hacked into a girl's account and asked his boyfriend to send back nudes of her. I was caught and ridiculed publicly on social media. My girlfriend broke up with me after that. She says she still loves me but she can't trust me anymore. I'm not even sure why I did what I did. It just happened. I'm trying to figure out why I did it. I'm not a bad guy otherwise. All my friends and family still supporting me know that. I just can't figure out what went wrong in my head.

It was an adventurous thought you experimented and probably someone or something could have provoked you. Are you addicted to watching porn, do an analysis of why you behaved so.
Talk to your girlfriend and express your guilt feeling, work on gaining her trust. May happen or may not happen, yet try to do away with your guilt.
You have other priorities in your life to work on your education, career and your own life. Set priorities and don't keep lingering around past incidents and trying to prove to your girlfriend.
