Hello, what you are experiencing at present is likely to be due to gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD). The possibility of having cancer of the stomach is very unlikely at your age and you need not worry. if you have already seen a surgeon or physician, you are likely to be on a combination of medicines to reduce the symptoms, if not I suggest you try a combination of proton pump inhibitor plus prokinetic for a week. If you continue to have symptoms, then please get an upper GI endoscopy on empty stomach. Apart from these, I would suggest a few life style modifications which will certainly help you. 1. Please reduce your weight, ideal should be 65-70kg for your height. weight training and cardio exercises will help. 2.Try eating small frequent meals, 4 to 6 times a day rather than 3 full meals. Avoid spicy food , reduce non vegetarian food ( in case if you take non veg food ) 3.Go light on your evening meal and have 2 hours gap before hitting the bed. 4. Head end elevation with 2 pillows while you sleep. Turn to left side and sleep. 5.If you are an anxious type of person or worry a lot about things you cannot control, I reckon you find ways to calm your mind. Hope this helps. Best regards, Dr.Sunay N.Bhat
