Can braces be applied only in upper jaw
Hello doctor. So, I use the braces on the upper teeth only, it is because the teeth on my upper jaw are overlap (messy) while the teeth on my lower jaw has no problem. And then I have read an article a while back that said putting on braces in one jaw only isn't good for both jaw arches. Is it true? and why did it happen? My dentist did not tell me about this struggle. Literally my dentist just ask me to choose between upper or lower jaw or even both would be bracketed. And i choose upper teeth only bcs like i said before, the teeth on my lower jaw has no problem (straight).

It is Subjective. First your condition should be properly analysed and then a suggestion for treatment is made. Usually braces are placed on both jaws but at times for minor correction braces can be placed on single jaw alone
