Hi. Acute complete tear of ACL is very unlikely to heal by itself. The fact that you want to persuade a sportsman carrer means lot of twisting and turning of your knee joint. ACL Ligament prevents you from falling while twisting or turning. Also meniscus tear needs to be addressed too as it is the shock absorber of knee to prevent future arthritis.
Next Steps
Consult a sports medicine and arthroscopy specialist to guide you through this.
Health Tips
Wear a hinged knee Brace to prevent further damage. Do hamstring and Quadriceps strengthening exercises. Don't do any sports activities till you get this issue sorted

If u want to have a sportsman carriers then surgery and appropriate rehab is must. Without surgery you can do walking and otger activities but getting to highest level of fitness may become difficult.  There are many sportsman with ligament injury who have been operated and they have returned back to professional sports.
