Cannot make tight fist
Hi Docs, Recently I have been feeling a little weak. I am having some other health problems like pain in groin area and stomach problems for which I consulted doctors. But I have also noticed that I am unable to make a tight fist these days. It requires lot of effort. And I cannot hold the fist for long. Is this sign for something more serious? Can you experienced people give some advice. Thanks !!

Hi there...I can understand your concern. Difficulty in making a fist is a sign of motor weakness. This can happen due to nerve injury, compression, or inflammation in diseases like hansens, amyloidosis, hereditary sensory motor neuropathy, vitamin deficiency. You will complete clinical workup. Even nerve conduction study might be required. So kindly consult a neurologist for further evaluation.
