Will need to examine you before anything specific. no  collar except for travelling where you may get jerks. Also, you may show to Ortho or neuro spine surgeon. Treatment will depend on whether you have arm pain or neck pain or weakness in your body.

You should consult an Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon for cervical compression. Using a collar will make your neck muscles weaker. Avoid it.

Strengthening neck muscle after physio will help. Collar don’t help to strengthen the muscles. Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration because dehydrated disc is more prone to injury. You can show to near by orthopaedic doctor.
