Hello there. I can understand your concern. Having deep fried foods once in a while is fine if you ask me if he is taking all the medications on time. What's the point if he cannot have what he wants once in a while. Anyways, there are certain things he can do to keep his cholesterol in check further more. Ask him to have high fiber foods, fruits and vegetables. Instead of three meals, he should have 5 smaller meals and two of those meals should consist of fruits and vegetables. Oats will certainly help him. Ask him to do a bit of excercise everyday. Or just a 20 minutes walk twice a day is enough. Best regards. Dr. Anil Kumar Jain.
