Claustrophobia can be managed with medications and counseling. Particularly Cognitive Behavior Therapy is used to treat claustrophobia. In this therapy, your phobic situations are noted down. And then numbered according to severity. Deep breathing exercises and relaxation techniques are taught to overcome anxiety associated with the situations. Then situation which causes least phobic anxiety is encountered first, while doing deep breathing and relaxation techniques. Gradually moving towards higher anxiety producing situations.
