I have earwax buildup in my ear and was given sodium bicarbonate to soften the wax. The problem is my ear has become completely clogged and it’s difficult to hear because of the drops. Is this normal?

You seem to be having impacted wax inside your ear canal. Initially after using drops cerumen/wax imbibes the drops and gets swollen causing complete ear block. Usually it will settle down over time. You should visit your doctor after 5 days to get the wax removed

Consult nearby ENT specialist for confirmation of diagnosis and appropriate treatment if required
