Cold for 2 months baby please help me
Hello doctor my son is 2 months old.. 2 weeks before he was admitted in hospital for high fever 103 degree with cold congestion in chest.. Xray was taken. They gave iV with antobiotic and nebulizer.. 4 days before his cold got worsen and he got his voice change.. so went to another pediatric he suggested few medicines.. I just want to know whether we these medicines are safe enough ADVENT COLDOVER ASTHAKIND P OMNACORTIL He said if not treated it may get worsen Attached is the discharge summary and latest prescription

Bronchiolitis generally have viral cause. In future days it may leads to allergic hyper reactive airway disease. At this initial stage omnacortil not needed.

For 2 months old , Omnacortil should not be used , not safe

Cough syrups are generally not recommended for 2 - 3 months old baby. However depending on individual case doctor may prescribe some medications including antibiotics. Looking at past history of admission and voice change, doctor may justify these medicines.

So continue the meds till next followup.

There should be no much worries if baby feeds well, passes adequate urine and remains playful in between fever.
