Cold sores
I recently drank a latte out of the same cup as a person who has cold sores. They were mostly healed but still had some dark pigmentation around her bottom lip. She drank from the cup and I drank from the lid. And now I have a sore throat four days later. Does this mean I have herpes now?

Dear Practo user,
Cold sores are contagious until the crust is removed completely. It is quite probable that you have got infected. If you have fever, pain in eating /drinking, swollen lymph nodes,you may consult a doctor for medication. Please take plenty of fluids if diagnosed with the condition.
