Difference between Indian implants and imported implants is like Mercedes and Maruti. It can not be compared. Both can be used and satisfactory to its user. Some Indian implants may not have approval from US FDA. There are different implants on femoral side and tibial side. I prefer ready to use loops like close loop or adjustable loops for femur fixation. I don't use handmade loops made of merselene tape. I've never used them. For tibial fixation, there are metallic screws like titanium screw or bio screws which may either degrade automatically with time or get converted to bone later on. I prefer imported implants because they definitely have advantage of better quality. Both work equally well for Indian patients It depends on the comfort of the operating surgeon and the patient We have been able to give excellent results with Indian implants as well If you have decided the surgeon just go with what he recommends if budget is not an issue As the operating surgeon will be the best person to decide what he is comfortable working with
