Continuos dry cough after Herpes shingle
Sir..pls guide me to get relief from continuous & severe dry cough for the past 5days. This happened after I got rectified from herpes shingles. ENT specialist , skin doctor said my herpes shingles have got rectified.But I got 2problems : left side face palsy ( herpes affected my left air) & then continuous dry cough..for face palsy am going to physiotherapy n also they r doing electric stimulation.. But cough I am unable to rectify & even my ENT doctor told me to consult pulmonologist.. I have attached my x-ray & blood test reports.pls help me what to do..( x ray taken when I was in standing position)

First of all welcome on Practo..Your x-ray seems Lt lower lobe mild Plural effusion..Now it's.not confirmed..because it's may be seen like this due to shadow , when u took this photo from your cell phone...It's not shooted in fully inspired condition?? Second your haemogram is normal...
U may get relief with mild corticosteroid..
Just go for HRCT of Thorax if your cough persistent..For better evaluation of your lungs..

There are many cases of shingles which may present with cough either along with or after the cure. The cause may be neurogenic. Please send details about what medications you already used till now for this problem. For symptomatic relief you may try
syrup Alex+sf 2-tsf twice a day. You may requires antibiotic support for which you have to give your treatment history.
