Extensive dry cough which is increasingly affecting the nap at nights. Not able to sleep at all during night hours. One of the ear is blocked as well. Already consulted a physician and taking antibiotic twice a day and anti-allergy once a day and cough syrup four times a day for 2-3 days. Taking hot water (with Betadine soln) gurgle once a day and hot water steam twice a day.

Drink fluids. Drink plenty of water to keep the throat moist and prevent dehydration.....
Try comforting foods and beverage. Warm liquids — broth, caffeine-free tea or warm water with honey can soothe a sore throat....
Gargle saltwater. A saltwater gargle of 1 teaspoon. Gargle the solution and then spit it out...
Humidify the air. Use a cool-air humidifier to eliminate dry air that may further irritate throat.....
