Dead hair follicles
Hello Doctor, I have been facing hair loss for 15+ years now(this is due to neglect). Due to which I have very scarce hair. I cannot even go for a normal parted hair hairstyle. Looks exactly like male pattern baldness. Pony tail is the only way out(it's never tight). I have got some tests(biopsy) done which said it's not hereditary (Mum had good hair dad has bad hair). Blood tests are all okay (thyroid sugar etc.)( I have never reproduced but am married)( and to add I think I eat good). I have been to many hair specialist clinic a while ago. Let me say that it took a lot of courage to walk in to those and hear nothing can be done, everything is over etc.It looks like hair follicles are missing, there are smooth areas ( not patches but distance between hairs)on the scalp. Now due to oiling and mehendi hair fall has reduced, but ...was wondering can PRP treatment help? Or any other treatment? Thank you in advance...good day Regards, SSD

You may be suffering from androgenic alopecia which is also called as pattern baldness. The hairs start reducing in density at the crown (top) and also the hairline starts refeeding  from the front. This is usually progressive throughout life unless treated. This is usually accompanied by severe dandruff which we call seborrhoea. The FDA approved treatment for this condition is a lotion and tablets. There is no other alternative. No oil or cream will magically work because the hairs are getting miniaturised  and eventually disappearing due to the hormonal effects on the hair roots. Please call me or  contact me with photos using online consult option for proper examination and treatment. Do not start treatment without consulting. I can give guidance and then you can continue treatment on your own.
