Dengue Fever
My dad had fever on 04/06/2018, it continued the next day and he was admitted at the local hospital in puttur and it was seen that the platelet count was around 164000 on 5th of June , his platelet count reduced to 109000 on 6th of June , same day evening he had breathing issues, immediately he was shifted to KMC Mangalore that night and he has been admitted in ICU , the next day Morning he got normal and looked fine and the platelet reduced to 88000 on 7th of June, Today I talked my dad he looks healthy but the platelet count further to 33000. He s on his 5th day of fever , and the doctor said to maintain normal diet and if it falls below 10000 he must undergo blood transfusion, Is ther anything to be worried and what best can be done with regard to platelet count , suggestions plz

Yeah I am a doctor and I myself have experienced this when I got dengue My last platelet count was 25000 Nothing to worry or panic Just give symptomatic treatment Check for rashes Plenty of fluids Papaya juice or leaves Coconut water
