Depressed or just Sad
Hi I am feeling extremely low. Gone through a bad breakup but the feelings have returned. Started contemplating harming myself. Don't understand what to do.

Hi Most people feel sad or depressed at times. It’s a natural reaction to any kind of loss or situations that cause emotional pain to us. There are varying degrees of sadness. But like other emotions, sadness is temporary and fades with time. In this way, sadness differs from depression. Symptoms of depression may include: -constant feelings of sadness -irritability -fatigue -changes in sleeping or eating patterns -difficulty concentrating -loss of interest and enthusiasm for things which used to provide pleasure -feelings of deep, unwarranted guilt -physical symptoms, such as headaches or body aches that do not have a specific cause -feelings of worthlessness -constant thoughts about death -suicidal thoughts or actions Remember that you may have some of these symptoms if you are sad, but they shouldn’t last more than two weeks. Suicidal thoughts are a sign of depression, not sadness. If feelings of constant sadness persist and if you have suicidal ideation or want to harm yourself in any way, I would recommend you call for immediate medical help, visit a psychologist or consult a psychiatrist so that you are in safe hands and in a safe environment. Speaking to a professional, like a therapist, can be a powerful first step toward recovery. Meanwhile, talk to a family member or friend or any other trusted person you consider close to yourself and try not to be alone when you feel like hurting yourself. You may also try to indulge in activities that make you happy and relax your mind. Go for walks and do some kind of physical activity that would not be strenuous for you.

When you’re feeling depressed or suicidal, your problems don’t seem temporary—they seem overwhelming and permanent. But with time, you will feel better, especially if you get help. There are many people who want to support you during this difficult time, so please reach out!

It is quite normL after a break up. But u have to accept it. It is life and every day anything could be happen. We have to face our problems and stay active untill the bad phase is gone. Patience is the key. Share ur thoughts to ur  parents , nearest friends , relative s .or u may put down ur thoughts into ur hobbies like singing , dancing , writing poem etc.
