Hello Ms. the assessment by psychiatrist and clinical psychologists is possible in single sitting. The case study method and mental state examination is a process followed by them to understand what is going through in the mind of a person.

Hello. Most psychiatrists with clinical experience will take detailed history and try to understand and help diagnose the person in need. The number of sessions they take to reach this diagnosis may vary with their expertise and style of working. However, most mental health professionals are trained to understand experiences that patients have and provide an idea about line of treatment in a session or two.
