Hi, have recently been given antidepressants for my problem, both for anxiety and depression. Although, I am afraid to take them incase they make my problem worse or cause life long problems...

If you are being diagnoses with these conditions, you must take the appropriate treatment for it. These problems may not resolve on its own but needs to be treated like any other medical problem. Apprehension about taking the medications, is one important symptoms of anxiety problem itself.
